HOW DO PINK SLIP INSPECTIONS WORK?

Most vehicles that are more than five years old are legally required to have a pink slip (eSafety) inspection report before they can be registered in New South Wales.

We will check a range of common issues with older vehicles, including vehicle body condition, tyre quality and tread depth, seatbelt condition, engine fluid leaks, vehicle electrics, brake efficiency and more.

If your vehicle passes the test you can then renew your vehicle registration.

HOW LONG DO PINK SLIPS LAST?

Once your vehicle has passed its eSafety inspection, your pink slip is valid for 42 days.

You'll need to register your vehicle with the New South Wales Roads and Maritime Services authority within 42 days of the date of issue of your pink slip.

You can carry out a pink slip inspection up to six months prior to the expiration date of your vehicle registration.

In New South Wales, it is up to the owner to make sure they know the history of the vehicle, and at K & T Mechanical, we do this by carrying out a rego check.
